As the oldest girl in her family, Suzie is a lifetime trailblazer. Born in California, but calls Milwaukee her home, Suzie is a first-generation college graduate. She attended Edgewood College as a Sociology major and received her master’s in Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of WI-La Crosse. She focused her graduate research on Southeast Asian American Student Success in Higher Education. Before joining the Mercile J. Lee Scholars program as a Program Advisor and Outreach Liaison, she served a total of 6 years as a Housing and Residence Life Hall Director at the University of WI-River Falls and University of WI-Eau Claire, advising the Hmong Living Community.

Suzie strives to cultivate a more just and compassionate world. By fostering meaningful relationships, she hopes students will be able to be their authentic self. Suzie enjoys catching the latest scary movies with her family, exploring the best boba shops in town with friends, and collects fan made BTS enamel pins—she has seen BTS five times in concert!
